Classic & Challenge Programs

Classic and Challenge. Our classic and challenge level programs are the highest level programs that our club offers. Teams are formed through a tryout process and compete against some of the strongest teams in the state at the Under-13 (U13) through Under-18 (U18) year old level.

Our classic and challenge teams normally practice three times a week (Mon/Tues/Thurs) and participate in a statewide league sponsored by the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA). Because we participate in a statewide league, regular season games are played throughout the upstate and involve travel to the midstate including Greenwood, Columbia, and Rock Hill.

Fall Season. The fall season for our U13-U18 teams begins with a pre-season team camp in early August and concludes between Thanksgiving to mid-December depending on the regular season schedule, state cup (for U15-U18 teams), and any post season tournaments which may vary from team to team. Note, there is only a fall club season for U15-U18 teams (as it is across all of South Carolina) to avoid conflict with high school soccer.

Spring Season. The spring season training for our U13 and U14 teams begins in mid-January and continues to first week of May. We strongly believe that continuing with CASA’s spring training is important to your child’s soccer development as 11v11 soccer is first introduced at the Under-13 age. Because we work with age-specific teams, we can focus our training to better suit the needs of your child’s development while junior varsity coaches may be faced a 4-5 year age range with an equally wide physical, technical, and tactical range. Nevertheless, we appreciate the desire that many 7th and 8th graders have to play for their school’s junior varsity program and that scheduling conflicts might arise. On a player-by-player basis, we will work with your family to resolve scheduling issues.
