Tryout Results and Procedures for Accepting Your Position

May 29, 2008

Dear Parents and Players,

Thank you for your interest in the Clemson Anderson Soccer Alliance. We were truly impressed by the effort that the players displayed on the field throughout the tryout process from both a skill and athleticism standpoint, but also from a sportsmanship perspective as we continue to welcome new players to our club. It makes our job more difficult, but as some might say "... it is a good problem ..." to have. Simply put, well done players—we are very proud of each one of you.

Below are the links to the tryout results as well as key information about our fees, how to accept your team assignment, and making initial payments.

Please email CASA@ClemsonAndersonSoccer.com if you have questions on how to use the web-based registration. Please direct all other questions to us. Click here if you are already to accept your position, and make initial payments.

Team meetings are next week, June 2, 3 and 4 as listed below. Please plan to attend. This will give you a chance to meet your soccer family and take care of fall scheduling issues. Inital payments are due by your team meeting. We will also announce team coaches at the team meetings.

Also, please mark the following dates on your calendar:

August 4-7: CASA Team Camp
August 11:  Regular Season Training Begins for Academy, Classic and Challenge teams
August 21:  Regular Season Training for Developmental teams begin
Labor Day Weekend: 2nd Annual Southeast BalloonFest Soccer Tournament

Again, thank you for your interest in playing soccer with CASA, and we look forward to seeing you at the team meetings.

3) Fall 2008 Fees. The CASA Fall 2008 fees are $325 for Academy and $545 for Classic/Challenge. Our fees include all state-level registration fees, league fees, referee fees, field costs, and training costs for the regular season. Players that do not already have uniforms must purchase uniforms.  As competitively chosen teams, we encourage our academy, classic and challenge teams to participate in two tournaments each season. Tournament costs are not included in our fees as registration fees vary from tournament to tournament.

4) Playing competitive soccer is a significant commitment of time and resources. In the Fall season, Academy players are scheduled to train approximately 60 hours, and our Classic/Challenge players are scheduled to train approximately 84 hours. This works out to $5.42/hr and $6.49/hr for these two programs, respectively and doesn’t include the training that coaches provide during matches. Nevertheless, the financial commitment is significant for most families, and, in particular, those with multiple players in the club. The below fee payment schedule portrays the $30 multi-player discount that is provided as well as our installment plan for those that wish to use it. At check out, our on-line registration system will allow you pay by credit card or by check as well as allow you to pay all fees up front or pay through the below installment plan.

FAQs
Q: How much does it cost to tryout? A: $25. This fee is applied to your total fall fees.

Q: The on-line registration page asks for uniform sizes. How do I know what size to enter?
A: Please consult Eurosport's sizing information by
clicking on this link. We will also have sample uniforms at the field; however, it is your responsibility to make sure the correct size information is entered into the online registration system. (If you have a uniform from last year that fits, and in acceptable condition, you should not have to purchase another uniform.)

Q: How many of the tryout sessions do I need to attend. A: It is strongly recommended that players attend all three scheduled tryout sessions. The player must attend two of the scheduled tryouts to be fully considered for an academy, classic, or challenge-level team.

Q: How do I tryout for an older aged team? A: To be considered for an older aged team that has tryouts scheduled at a different time (i.e., tryout for U16 as a U15-aged player or tryout out for U13 as a U12-aged player), you must must attend the tryout for your normal playing age in addition to the older age.
Nettles Road Closure
Nettles Road Closed for Bridge Replacement - Friday, November 23, 2007

CLEMSON — Starting Monday (Nov 26), a portion of Nettles Road will be closed as part of a bridge replacement project across Eighteen Mile Creek. Clemson city officials said Tuesday the road will be closed from Issaqueena Trail Road to the Nettles Park entrance. However, Nettles Park will remain accessible to motorists by taking Pendleton Highway towards Pendleton, taking a left on Brown Road, and another left onto Central Road.  The goal is to have the project completed by June 10.
