Apr 18-19. CASA U10-U12 Academy teams posted strong results at the South Carolina Youth Soccer Publix Palmetto Cup. Held this weekend in Columbia, six CASA teams faced off against competition from across the state.

The CASA 97 Fire won first place in the state at the U11 Boys division. After battling the Easley Sharks to a 0-0 draw to open pool play, the 97 Fire posted wins against teams from Columbia and Florence. The 97 Fire drew a rematch with the Easley Sharks for the state championship. The 97 Fire went on to win 2-1.

In the U12 Girls division, the CASA 96 Explosion earned two wins and a draw against teams from Columbia, Summerville, and Lexington. Although yielding no goals throughout pool play, the girls found themselves in a tie with the Columbia Blue team. After 5 tie breakers, both teams were brought out to the pitch for penalty kicks. The Columbia Blue team won the battle and ultimately the U12 championship match played later on Sunday.
