2009 CASA Soccer Classic

Aug 29-30: Fifty-seven teams from the four-state region descended on the Clemson-Anderson area this past weekend to enjoy the beautiful upstate weather and participate in more than 100 soccer matches. With divisions ranging in ages from Under-10 to Under-19, matches were held at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Center as well as Nettles Park in Clemson where we enjoyed the opportunity to christen two new soccer fields added by the City of Clemson. At the end of the day on Sunday, 12 different clubs took home champions or finalists medals. For all results, please go to our tournament page.

"We want to thank all of our out of town visitors for participating in our tournament and providing for a friendly, yet spirited competition. The Anderson Civic Center and Clemson Parks and Recreation managers and grounds crew did a great job in helping to arrange for logistics and preparing the fields for play" stated Katherine Sitler, CASA President. Logan Hull added, "we also appreciate Blue Ridge Orthopaedics providing athletic trainers, Panera Bread of Anderson donating lunches for our referees, and all the hours that our parent volunteers provided over the weekend from working the concession booths to cleaning up the fields."
